Patlabor: The TV Series
Episode 9
Red Labor Landing
Easier to manage blocks via a list vs. individually. Can change the subscription settings to off/mute/block en masse. It’s just convenient. Again, I’m not complaining that blocks exist—moreso that the zeitgeist seems to be hostility-first & constructive/friendly an afterthought. “Dunking” culture.
Not rly. But, if I’m in the “Discover” tab or w/e & I see ppl who I know will cause trouble or perceive as being that type I don’t hesitate to block. Blocking isn’t smth I especially dedicate time or energy into doing or thinking abt. Mostly on here chilling and re-posting cool stuff.

The 100 lowest-paying US corporations spent $644B on stock buybacks from 2019 to 2024.

Buybacks artificially boost share prices and inflate CEO pay.

The typical worker at these companies earned $35k last year.

Meanwhile, the average CEO was paid $17.2M

See the problem?

Protocol Check-in (Fall 2025) | Bluesky
We last shared a protocol roadmap back in March 2025, and wow does time fly. If we're being honest, we haven't tied a bow on as many of these threads as we would've hoped. Oh time, strength, cash, and...

new Mike Acs scan of "Space Shuttle Visits Construction Facility" by John Olson, color corrected by yours truly
Awesome article! Rly interesting read. I also rly liked all the pics & illustrations showing conceptual builds. Now I need to do a read-up on Mir 2. I liked the pics of its truss design—very Space Station Freedom vibes. Imagine there’s a parallel reality where USSR survived & all of this got built.

The “Manned Spacecraft Servicing Unit" tower for Zenit launches with Zarya has just been demolished. Zarya was a propulsively landed capsule with Buran heat protection tiles that was in dev in the 80s as the ferry to Mir-2 and a successor to the Soyuz.

My write-up on Zarya linked in quoted bleet.

America, like Israel, just cannot help itself. It’s as though the country needs blood & human sacrifice in order to survive.

The AWS outage exposes again that “the cloud” isn’t magic, it’s infrastructure. The issue isn’t a cyberattack, it’s architectural over-reliance on a handful of cloud giants. We centralized the internet and then made our entire lives dependent on it.

The Guardian is reporting that since Israel and Hamas signed the ceasefire and full hostage exchange agreement, Israel has violated the ceasefire 47 times, killed 38 Palestinians, and wounded another 143 more.

Meanwhile Hamas has released all remaining hostages.

It Was Never About The Hostages.

"AI was born enshittified" okay I guess the term "enshittification" has officially lost all meaning it ever once had, glad we got that squared away.
I say “Mastodon behavior” bc Mastodon-Fedi is populated by a large cohort of users who genuinely spend the majority of their time on the network hunting around for other users to be rude or antagonistic towards + add to massive block-lists they maintain like a part-time job.

The AWS outage today is a good reminder that there is no "cloud", there's just somebody else's computer.
