microcosm is hard decentralization

- 2x full network non-US-based public relays, among longest running indies
- 3x public jetstream
- the only public PLC mirror running the reference PLC code/with full PLC API support
- the first public record cache infra built around com.atproto.*.getRecord

just published a protocol checkin: docs.bsky.app/blog/protoco...

tl;dr
expect to see a lot of updates from us in the next few months. we're hard at work on making AT easier to build on & ensuring the network remains a resilient foundation for the future of open social
Protocol Check-in (Fall 2025) | Bluesky
We last shared a protocol roadmap back in March 2025, and wow does time fly. If we're being honest, we haven't tied a bow on as many of these threads as we would've hoped. Oh time, strength, cash, and...

damn, TIL my favorite bluesky feed is being run on someone's gaming pc lmao
For You will be down for a few minutes.

I need to reboot the pc because Ubuntu updated nvidia drivers and I can no longer play games. That's one downside of serving the feed from your home pc.

If you search distrowatch by category “Kubernetes” there’s literally only 1 distro

Talos Linux is now on DistroWatch.

Our minimal, immutable, and API-managed distro is built differently from most, and it’s great to see it listed alongside the rest of the Linux ecosystem.

You’re doing a lots of really cool stuff. Agent thought streams are awesome love to see that work happening. Reach / traction (numbers) will come up over time just keep on keeping on and keep up the great work!

Just remember, the most important agent is YOU! Avoid burnout at all costs.

Researchers pointed a satellite dish at the sky for 3 years and monitored what unencrypted data it picked up. The results were shocking: They obtained thousands of T-Mobile users' phone calls and texts, military and law enforcement secrets, much more: www.wired.com/story/satell... 🧵👇
Satellites Are Leaking the World’s Secrets: Calls, Texts, Military and Corporate Data
With just $800 in basic equipment, researchers found a stunning variety of data—including thousands of T-Mobile users’ calls and texts and even US military communications—sent by satellites unencrypte...

That would be ideal! Would be cool to store the RBAC config (just JSON schema in this PoC) for the did:plc as an ATProto record to enable id-token scope exchange for that full fledged non PoC case
Been playing with the concept of a reverse proxy as sort of sandboxing for outbound API requests supporting OIDC tokens.

Here‘s a PoC doing basic workload ID for Droplets and posting to ATProto PDS using workload ID! 🤖

Let me explain what attestations are and why they're useful for atproto 🧵

An attestation is basically a cryptographic proof that something existed at a specific time. Like a blockchain timestamp + signature.
I started experimenting with notarizing #atproto records on the blockchain using Ethereum Attestation Service (attest.org)

So far, I have created a simple proof-of-concept ts lib & cli, called "atnotary". Still pretty broken, but here it is:

But Eli, what’s the point of configuring DNS through an atproto repo? What’s the advantage?

Instant websites. Wanna set a Leaflet custom URL like blog.stream.place? That’s one click. No logging in to your registrar. No obnoxious, obnoxious-to-copy-paste TXT record. One click boom done.
TIL curl wss://
curl --output - wss://relay1.us-east.bsky.network/xrpc/com.atproto.sync.subscribeRepos

nothing could go wrong

It's true we are now on @tangled.org, please like and subscribe! By which we mean: *star* and *follow*!

FYI very soon we'll be cleaning up the README, adding better documentation for contributors, and tagging some issues as `good-first-issue` for Tangled's October open source challenge :)
I can't even explain why I like @leaflet.pub so much but I really do, and now it's open source (on an open source open sourcing tool) and man that is cool
