Game Dev who makes games with the Godot engine. I sometimes dabble with other engines like GZDoom or RPG Maker. He/Him Linktree: https://linktr.ee/jm93dev

I have played any Pokémon games since Silver, and that one time I rented Pokémon Colosseum on the GameCube.

My previous attempt kinda failed, because I was basically trying to wrestle the default Doom player entity to behave like a third-person platformer controller. It might be better if I rewrote most of the code from scratch.

I thought about reviving that Heretic II/Tomb Raider inspired game I was making in GZDoom. I'm probably better off just sticking to Godot.

Mohrta is the sort of thing I'd like to see more of. People using GZ/UZDoom (or other id tech derived engines) to make very non-Doom, non-boomer shooter things.

Nothing against them, I just think those engines are capable of doing more. SRB2 is another good example.

I've never watched Terrahawks, but I've just seen that they're uploading every episode to youtube. It looks like something I'd enjoy.

I was thinking earlier that I'd love an alternative to GZDoom with the same amount of moddability. The performance of GZD is one of the things that puts me off using it.

Even putting aside the fact that AI can't do this and will never be able to do this

Who would *want* this? Who wants a bespoke personal TV show? That they can't meaningfully engage anyone else with? That no human had a hand in crafting? You might as well tell someone about a cool dream you had.

Was thinking about how my high school was a bunch of scattered buildings from different decades, so going to class was like travelling through time. The main building was very 1930s, Art block was from the 90s, Science from the 80s. IT area was a very early 00s New Labour PFI building

I have this amazing, completely original idea for an internet horror story. It involves a CURSED cartridge or something, and when they switch it on Sonic appears with BLOOD in his eyes and everything's all red and then the player dies or some shit.

Would you recommend it to someone with little or no experience with Quake modding? I've tried to start using it before but didn't get very far.

Though I think it's only because of the Minecraft movie

Never thought I'd see the day that a video game was referenced in a show my mother watches.

The former is not just a spooky werewolf film. It's also a bleak as fuck story about a young man refusing to come to terms with his illness and harming others as a result. Not something I'd watch while curling up with a hot chocolate.
jm93.bsky.social
Hocus Pocus maybe, as that's a 90s kids film

American Werewolf is absolutely not something to watch if you want to feel "cozy."
rhagana.bsky.social
Absolutely wild that @commandersterling.bsky.social was ranting this week about how the word"cozy" has become pervasive in video games and I see this at my local library today
Poster at the library's video section advertising "cozy horror" movies; it's a collage of original posters for the films The Fog, Practical Magic, Misery, Werewolves Within, Let the Right One In, Hocus Pocus, Sleepy Hollow (Tim Burton version), Scare Me, and An American Werewolf in London.

Game Boy Color visions of a Bitter Coast journey to Vivec.

Trying out a lil Game Boy game jam Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind fan adventure game that's got a whole glob of talent and charm behind it.
A pixel GBC scene of a silt strider rising above a fittingly swampy and tall mushroom strewn landscape in horizontal perspective. A tall grey mountain rises above the dithered mist.
