Currently working on a new Christmas card design, which is now an annual tradition.

I always make them book-themed, so as to sell them at our bookshop - @mcnaughtans.co.uk (I co-own it with my husband).

The end is thankfully in sight for the new design, but while I finish it here’s last year’s.

The choice of books in Felix Vallotton’s 'The Bookcase,' (1915) play nicely into the picture's palette: the shelves are filled with the yellow spines of the Bibliothèque Charpentier collection, in a nod to the (then) supposed female preference for thrilling novels.

Geboortedag Stijn Streuvels, pseudoniem van Frank Lateur (1871-1969). De voormalige brood- en pasteibakker werd beroemd met de breed opgezette boerenroman 'De vlaschaard', een boek met een 'meeslepend rhythme in zijn statige wenteling'. Streuvels was een neef van Guido Gezelle.
