At Sitges, the sci-fi and horror film festival just outside Barcelona. Really amazed at how it totally transforms the town... There's even a statue of the festival's mascot! It's been going since the late 1960s.
Kudos to @daff.space and the Game Sewer folk for their on-theme sludge refreshments served in petri dishes.

It was great catching up with one of my favourite comic creators @jimmunroe.net, who was debuting his latest book 'Zeroed Out', at Lucky's Comics tonight. Joining was local comics zen master @jasonturner.bsky.social with his latest, Vinegar #46. Always a cause for celebration. Sweet evening.
Hard not to read this as the choice in this cultural moment.
We figure the rocks are fake as they're not crushing the styrofoam underneath.

Oh no! First I'm hearing about it. Did I take this picture?
Sneaking away from the game conference to say hi to an old friend, the coliseum inspired Vancouver Public Library. We arrived in town around the same time, May 1995!

I'm happy to announce the launch of 𝑾𝒉𝒂𝒕'𝒔 𝑵𝒆𝒙𝒕 𝑱𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓? - an interactive resource that provides post-jam guidance to game jammers!

I worked with @jimmunroe.net at GAIN to create this toolkit, which provides advice for jammers interested in commercial, artistic, or experimental development paths.

Now I want to know what Lorenzo's latest album of note is!
Late to it, esp for a Toronto band, but really enjoying The Beaches! Riding out the rest of the summer on a wave of melodic fun energy: www.thebeachesband.com
The full Blame My Ex album is rock solid top to bottom.

Delightfully the AGO has invited me back to curate a selection of videogames about Indian cooking, teenage exocolonists, and strangely satisfying tiny adjustments like straightening a picture frame on a wall. www.facebook.com/share/1GNus2... #Toronto #videogames #art

I was at the birth of the Toronto Public Library Junction Triangle branch! I thought that it would be the 101st but it's actually replacing Perth, so we're still at a pleasing 100 branches.

If you're a Canadian zinester that I missed here:
1) Repost our fair announcement above!
2) Say hi so that I can add you to my Canadian Zinesters starter pack!

Kind of proud of my first ever sandal-strap tan! This piece I wrote at the top of the summer will explain for those curious: jimmunroe.net/writing/wear...
Another delightful innovation from the library! A take-a-puzzle leave-a-puzzle section at Pape/Danforth branch. They have considered the whole missing piece conundrum and added a rule on the sign.
Had my first teeth cleaning and checkup with the Canadian Dental Care Plan! Pretty easy to apply:

I know we'll probably find out it was all a conspiracy puppeteered by Big Maple Syrup, but for now I'm enjoying the moment.
