The firing of federal workers is an unlawful abuse of power by the Trump administration—and a scare tactic to keep Democratic lawmakers from protecting Americans' health care. @gbedekovics.bsky.social explains:
Grateful for the 15 states that have formed a public health alliance to protect the health of their communities. It's a tall order as the federal government dismantles the federal system piece by piece. www.wsj.com/health/healt...
Exclusive | Blue States Are Setting Up a Shadow Public-Health Alliance to Counter RFK Jr.

Trading away Americans' health to boost polluters' profits has become a daily thing for the Trump administration. They want to delay or cancel lifesaving limits on toxins dumped by coal-fired power plants into our waterways, silica dust limits that protect coal miners from black lung & more.
Trump and RFK Jr. aren't making America healthy again—in fact, they're making our nation's health care worse. @cmkelly.bsky.social explains how the administration is undermining its own MAHA agenda:
My colleague @cmkelly.bsky.social describes how gutting protections from cancer-causing pollution, and slashing cancer research and treatment, threatens the health of Americans, including our kids.

In just the past year, electricity prices have jumped more than twice the rate of inflation—and this is only the beginning. The Trump administration should be protecting our wallets, not paying off his billionaire buddies.
My colleague @nzmurphy.bsky.social explains how Republicans are holding the government and families’ health care hostage by refusing to extend the Affordable Care Act’s enhanced premium tax credits. And how they are misleading the public. ⬇️

The Trump administration is eliminating the data on food insecurity in America instead of putting food in the bellies of hungry kids.

Here’s my article on how a government shutdown works.

Shutdowns are complicated, and each shutdown is different. Some things stay open. Some stay open for a bit and eventually close. Some close immediately.

I did my best to explain it all here:
What Happens During a Government Shutdown?
Learn how a government shutdown affects you.

Trump's deployment of masked federal agents into LA, DC, and Chicago is straight from the authoritarian playbook—just ask the people of Hong Kong and Venezuela.

NEW: Per multiple sources, HHS employees received a message 20 minutes ago saying that Trump opposes a gov shutdown. "Unfortunately, Democrats are blocking this Continuing Resolution in the US Senate due to unrelated policy demands."

One source called it "the most overtly political message" yet.

ACIP votes today on whether the pediatric vaccine schedule should be updated to reflect that the combined MMRV vaccine is not recommended for children < 4, reducing parental choice, posing barriers, & not based on new data. Such action would eliminate coverage by the Vaccines for Children program.
@nytimes.com reports on the state of our vaccine policy – with the addition of five NEW advisors to the ACIP, 8 out of 12 appointees on the ACIP are openly vaccine-skeptic.

"commit in advance"
Monarez: "Kennedy demanded 2 things of me that were were inconsistent w/ my oath of office. He directed me to commit in advance to approving every ACIP recommendation regardless of the scientific evidence. He also directed me to dismiss career officials responsible for vaccine policy without cause"
