A federal judge has blocked Trump’s plan to use the shutdown to lay off 1000’s of federal workers, ruling officials exceeded their authority. It’s a win today, but there’s more work to do.

The Supreme Court is hearing a major Louisiana case today that could rewrite how the Voting Rights Act protects voters. Limiting Section 2 would make it harder for people everywhere, including here in CT, to challenge unfair maps. Democracy only works when every vote counts.
