Winter Leagues in Mexico, Venezuela, and the Dominican Republic begin today.

While researching a bunch of stuff all day on them I found out that apparently Miguel Cabrera is going to be playing in the Venezuelan Winter League this year and frankly I think that rules.

I think they'd obviously prefer a player they can at least stash in AAA until they need him, and moving Adolis, a solid MLB player, should provide that at the very least.

Oh yeah, I agree. Just bringing up the OBP to your original point. And while the FO is probably in love with his contact artistry, they also have to understand that his (lack of) defensive profile isn't in harmony with their stated goals of "pitching and defense."
