The Scottish Greens used to have that problem and it was sorted out really quickly with the right leadership. I would expect that the English & Welsh party would find it easier, if anything, given the rich availability of alternative options for those whose ignorance is a matter of principle.

I've seen a lot of people really struggling because part of how they kept themselves going was by imagining that one day they would return home. Now they have to confront the reality that home is gone. It's a psychologically dangerous moment.

I really wanted to watch the series version of 'House of Usher'. I'm a bit of a Poe completist. But again, it was horrendously over-edited, jumping about to an extent that made it impossible to focus on the drama, as if it had been shot by someone on speed.

When I was sent the first of those for awards viewing, i spent the first ten minutes counting seconds. not being able to get higher than 14 at any time before there was a cut, I ditched the rest. It made me feel seasick, and a lot of it was totally unnecessary, communicating nothing but impatience.

I have great difficulty watching work in which editing has been substituted for a multi-camera approach, which is the case for most of the new TV i encounter these days, alas, and also some TV-related films, like the 'Downton Abbey' ones.

There's a lot of interesting stuff here. I'm pleased to be able to report that a lot of the independent film directors I engage with like to have a second camera running, but it's rarely an approach they've been formally taught.

I'm a journalist and I make sure to do due diligence on anyone I help. If people prefer to go through agencies, that is of course their prerogative, but at present, even with the cease fire, most aid sent that way is getting stuck at the border.

Speaking as someone who has lost a great deal and, barring big medical breakthroughs, will never be okay, no matter what anyone does, "It will be better than this" still counts for a lot. As does knowing that one has allies in calling for justice, and emergency support & support for occasional fun.

Don't underestimate what you do. Kindness goes a long way. When people feel that the whole world is against them, one person being there to listen and offer emotional support can help them hold onto hope.
