“Well-meaning” people are using machine translation to write Wikipedia articles in languages that they don’t speak themselves, accelerating the degeneration in quality of the web corpus for several languages with relatively few native speakers.

How AI and Wikipedia have sent vulnerable languages into a doom spiral
Machine translators have made it easier than ever to create error-plagued Wikipedia articles in obscure languages. What happens when AI models get trained on junk pages?

If you can't handle me at my "to each according to need" then you don't deserve me at my "from each according to ability".

IMHO, LLMs will be an economic negative for years.

They'll do a worse job than humans,

but will still replace humans because they're cheaper for employers,

but really they're costlier, it's just that lots of costs get externalized to society by our horrible energy/tax policies.

Lose-lose-lose.
The Real AI Risk is ‘Meh’ Technology That Takes Jobs and Annoys Us All
While AI doomsday scenarios dwell on the risks posed by superintelligent robot overlords, one Nobel-Prize winning economist fears a more mundane possibility.

that's Old Lady Groyper's place. We don't play around there because, well… my mom says it's not safe.
There's no "quiet part" to say out loud anymore, they're just actively organizing in public and destroying all the institutions that could stand in the way (paper tigers though they were)
That dual-move of massive reinvestment in AI and robotics during unemployment would probably result in worsening general conditions for most workers.
would focus investment on real assets (e.g. commodities, utilities, infrastructure and land) and industrial sectors like automation that businesses strapped for cash will turn to after laying off as much of their workforce as possible.
Today's central banks are dramatically more interventionist, so you'd expect the opposite macro-effects (i.e. huge inflation) as a result of intervention, which means cash and T-bills would be a bad move. It seems like a modern investor concerned about a potential depression…
If you were an investor as the Great Depression was beginning, the smart move would've been to preserve purchasing power to time re-entry. It made sense to hold cash, or buy Tbills or gold. Mining, real estate and blue-chip industrial equity were the best survivors.

No Leftist would write “if you’re reading this you’re gay” because *Leftists don’t make gay jokes like this*

He was irony-poisoned to the point of nihilism and apoliticality (fascism)

Countless conservatives lust after transwomen (“traps”) and it damn certainly does NOT imply progressive politics

Shout out to everyone only now learning that "Albert Einstein was reclusive at the end of his career, shunning public engagements."

Really meant,

"For the last *20 years* of his career, Einstein opposed US racism by only speaking publicly at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs).

Foldable phones are a bad idea: more parts that can break, on an already fragile device, with not a big-enough screen to justify the tradeoffs. Instead, make it easy to plug the phone into a monitor to be your computer when you get to a desk!
I don't know who Merge is or why you keep having conflicts with them, but they sound toxic and you should cut them out of your life.
I don't want to seem ungrateful, but your gift frankly sucks
