I understand where you are coming from. Washington did own slaves as did many others. Not good by our standards. Not good for anyone then or now. We can see his genius and his flaws and be happy for what he contributed. We can also celebrate the end of slavery, freedom, & hope justice prevails.

When a first took little Cosmo out for his morning walk, the sky was blue and beautiful. The sky is still beautiful, but we’re back to an overcast, cloudy, almost sunless sky.
