I watched a driver with illegal tints ignore priority at a cross road on a minor backstreet to pull out across a father and young son cycling together. We all gave the driver the evil eye.

The most offensive thing about this entire 'mini Manhattan' bit of regeneration is that almost no pavement side businesses or shops have emerged, leaving the whole City Road stretch hostile and dour. Why no cycle lanes on this very wide part either?

The story of the murder of convicted paedophile Ian Watkins made me realise that the casual throwing around of "nonce" as an insult by certain people (especially right wing) isn't really about children, but of making the person on the receiving end a target of acceptable violence.
