Still a mystery is why it took this much effort for something this simple, but this proves that it can be done and all the people I spoke with earlier, who swore it couldn't be done and that escalating my case higher and higher would accomplish nothing, were dead wrong.

The newest wrinkle? When I went to put them back live, I got an error saying that the covers are the wrong size by a fraction of an inch. They were built to Amazon's specifications. Did the differently colored paper add thickness to the books?
As long as they go back live without any more hitches,

Yesterday, they asked me to unpublish the 2nd and 3rd books so that the techs could make the change to the paper type. I did, and this afternoon was informed that the change was made and I could republish them.

So, the ongoing saga to get the paper color for the Crowns books to match seems to be nearing a conclusion.

I've had several emails from KDP tech support the last few days (after weeks with no correspondence. I figured they were just ignoring me) telling me they were working the problem.

At the dentist's to check up on the holes from where they ripped my teeth out a week ago. My stomach has been bugging me today and I was hoping this would be a quick in and out, so of course this is the longest I've ever been left sitting in the waiting room here.

“He’s right.”
“So, where’d all that extra space go?” Damon pushed his way past the stacks of cardboard and felt along the back wall. His knuckles rapped against the metal a few times. “Yup. Just as I thought.”
“You can’t possibly expect us to know what you were thinking of.” Lucky, and the others, watched him through the spaces between the boxes he’d just shoved between.
“It wouldn’t be appropriate for the workplace, anyway,” Damon replied.
“I think I’m starting to get your meaning, sir, and I don’t like the implications,” said Jenkins.
“I bet I like them even less,” Damon said.
“Care to fill the rest of us in?” Lucky asked.
Damon took a step back and pointed to the wall.
“That’s not a wall.”
“It definitely is,” said Lucky.
“Not a real one. It’s a false one. Well, I say it’s false. I suppose, by the strictest definition, it’s so good of a false one that it bends in on being the genuine article.”

It's quarter to 7 and USPS still hasn't come through for the day. While it's not unheard of for them to come this late, it's still pretty uncommon, and not at all appreciated when we haven't gotten mail in 3 days and I'm expecting something important that was mailed 6 days ago.

As someone who was raised Christian, whose best friend's dad is a pastor, and whose own dad became a pastor later in life, the way these people attempt to claim Jesus and Christianity while embodying the exact opposite of Christ's teachings is absolutely sickening.
