Good to see new Effective Practice Spotlights from HMI Probation being published with inspection reports.

Provides a number of examples of where probation work is done well, a nice antidote to inspection reports which bring the negatives to the fore.

Nice way to end the week:

'your article "Held to Account: Comparing Adversarial Questioning in Remote and In-Person Parole Hearings" has been accepted for publication in Language in Society.'🎉

Enjoy!!

The Probation Journal is looking for two new co-opted, independent members of its Editorial Board.

We are keen to welcome people who are new to academic publishing and/or those who have experience of being under penal supervision.

See image below for details on how to apply.

I was so proud to attend my partner's book launch at @waterstones.bsky.social in Sheffield last night. Great conversation between Rachel & @helenmort.bsky.social.

IT COMES FROM THE RIVER is the story of three women bound together, in search of emancipation.
