I was conservative when I thought human suffering was a fixable bug in the system.

I became a liberal when I learned it was a feature needing mitigation.

I am a socialist because I discovered that suffering is the fuel the system runs on.

Efficient markets are such a foundational concept in Econ101 that they spend a whole day on it, then mention they don’t really exist and move on like nothing just happened.
