Teams tend to give their homegrown talent ample opportunities to “figure it out”. I think it’s a nice story that Stearns grew up a #Mets fan but it’s time to build a winner in 2026 or join F-Mart, Milledge or Generation K (just to name a few!) in Mets lore and guys who never made it in NY. #MetsSky

After a mid-season acquisition earlier in the year, Mike Piazza signed a seven-year, $91 million contract with the #Mets on this date, October 26 in 1998. Piazza was a great Met and when it came down to it, he wanted to wear a #Mets cap in Cooperstown over the Dodgers. #MetsSky

If the #Mets don’t re-sign the Polar Bear and he ends his career with the team at 264 home runs, who (and in what season) would break that record? For example, I predict Juan Soto in the 2033 season.
