It rubs me the wrong way that word "ideology", because usually, their ideas are far from ideal. Usually they are heinous and hateful.

Yes, it does. I don't get it. We've had some 15 years of rightwing governments, everybody's complaining, and then the majority go and vote even more rightwing (extremist)?!
Because they listen to rightwing media who tell them the left is to blame for everything. The left have not been in power!

True and worrying. I'm not at all comfortable with the upcoming elections here and I fear we may end up with a (very) rightwing government (again) which will destroy much of what we've painstakingly gained over the years.
