Like, my uncle passed in April from a seizure in his sleep and he was just shy of his 51st birthday. Like this is worrisome to me that this is the life expectancy of Black men, now. I need y'all to be vigilant about your health please and thank you.

I'm now talking a bit about other things but I can't help but look at how the world once was and be a bit thankful things indeed are improving even when things are still not great. There are hungry kids and hurt kids and sick kids but also? The outcomes look different than before and I'm thankful.

It is hugely helpful to not have to rely solely on the crops in your region. Ppl from all over the world can lend aid to each other and that's amazing. But also it's amazing we can create plants and grow in ways tht some environmental constraints aren't as much of a barrier anymore.

Ppl always want to forget the past but it helps us keep an awareness of today. Some things from back in the day worked, worked well, but were lost for "better" things but we should go back to more sustainable food systems. However some things just didn't work.

I feel like we get caught up in certain things we forget we're actually very lucky we have access to so much more than our ancestors did. Every year we learn so much about the body and history. Humanity is young, we are. We're still figuring things out and that's worth celebrating.

So many health issues actually stem from those generations past who DIDN'T have access to shit like McDonald's. Obviously that's not good for you but it's better than not eating at all or only eating poor quality food. McDonald's isn't as likely as raw milk to give you an illness lmao

Ppl have spoken on child mortality rates but it goes beyond vaccines and other modern medical miracles. We also are much better at getting nutrients into kids despite what ppl scaremonger.

Just thinking abt this because my nephew gets so active every time he eats and I can't help but think abt how yeah, kids be wildin but also? Hungry kids wild out less. And I'm saying hungry but nutrition is also very important. More and more kids are being treated well. Many aren't used to this.

Thinking abt how also until recently (tho it still happens) hungry children was the norm and that's part of why ppl are so irritated with kids being "rowdy". Like... it's only been a few decades since starving children wasn't a wider norm. Of course kids were "meek" and quiet. They were lethargic.
