i’m sorry to be that guy again but those font symbols you have to copy/paste to get italic or cursive text in social media posts do not work with screen readers and will spit out awful gibberish instead. please avoid them! there are more disabled users of the internet than you think.

New footage shows the moment the cranes collapsed, damaging buildings.

Initial reports indicate at least one person was killed with several others injured.

This remains the funniest way to hear about an internet outage, though.

UK study: a car’s four tires churn out one trillion particles for every kilometer driven.

This means 80% of plastic in our bodies is likely from car tire dust contaminated with traces of oil, petrol, petrol exhaust & asphalt. No wonder Cancer rates are going up

Researchers in Japan have confirmed that microplastics are present in clouds, where they are likely affecting the climate in ways that are not yet fully understood.

What are your favorite science-related vacations? Here are some of mine.
(Every vacation can be a science vacation if you interpret "science" broadly, which we should, and look at it right.) www.lastwordonnothing.com/2025/10/20/s...

Because they're facist 😭 i think people keep thinking I'm exaggerating when I say that but I'm not. And it's not new. A newspaper that would knowingly employ a nazi sympathizer as Berlin bureau chief because he got them access to Hitler is not a paper that will help uphold democracy.
I looked at 38 papers. The NYT was one of only a few not to have it as the top story and photo

The handful of exceptions were pretty much all places with a big D1 football game

I genuinely don't understand why the NYT is so reticent to give coverage to one of the largest protests in history

It's quite annoying because I enjoy being able to breathe.
(no, I'm not sick, I know my body's reaction to airborne allergens vs. an airways infection or Covid. My nose also unclogs when I exert myself, another typical allergy behaviour.)
Currently weirded out by my nose which is constantly blocked, like it is when pollen are around, but the only thing currently flying around are a type of spores that I did hyposensibilisation on, so I shouldn't have an allergic reaction -__-
Tried to have a holiday; was in an apartment. Upstairs neighbours stomping around every second I was there. Came home... Upstairs neighbours are having children around and they're trampling around every second like they do when they're here. 💀
I love how #ThePretender guy often looks like he's enjoying the shit out of life. Just absolute delight at encountering new things, listening to people, being silly.
OMG I think I finally managed to force my Android phone to open YouTube links in NewPipe. I had everything disabled for YT yet it would still insist on opening YT for videos. Turns out, I had to go deep into a menu for NP and click a bunch of URLs 💀
