Child death and injury to children is my big fucking trigger. I can't look at photos like that without it triggering a panic attack. And don't get me started on reading it.

The thing about horror and dark content is that I can take a human getting brutally unalived, no problem. But when it's animals? It fucks with me. I can't tell you how many books I have DNFed when there is the death of a pet.

My marketing is not any less intense because they are serials, and adding another active serial right now is adding another workload on top of the 2 serials I have to deal with. It's all balancing act, for sure.

I am considering pausing on Do or Die (my Die Hard-inspired romance) because I have to focus on finishing up A Vicious Thirst and A Damning Desire is taking up a lot of my time. So I am going to pause on Do or Die until next year.

I want to make one thing clear. A Damning Desire has more new content than old (this used to be The Devil's Bargain by Rian Fox). I would say it's a 70/30 ratio. So I'm not just re-packaging an old book (like I did with Turnt Up) and calling it a good ole day.

A lot of older books are badly written by modern standards and that's a sign of prior getting better at writing stories over time, not a sign of cultural or literary degradation.

As a result, modern reinventions of classics provide a way to get the gist without subjecting yourself to a slog!! 💜
