In that model, 'should X be on the curriculum' just means 'is it useful to know about X at some point', and then - unless X is obviously illegal/immoral, or highly specialist - the answer will to the curriculum questions will be 'yes' for ~any value of X.

The reality is most people who haven't taught/trained, or who haven't thought much about learning, assume learning is a linear process in which 'A telling B something once or twice' is the same as 'B having learned that thing'.

Largely agree with this. Did some GCSE English tutoring for struggling students a couple of years ago, and this issue of knowing 'strategies' versus knowing vocabulary was very visible. To some extent that's the reality of 'reading' in adult life though, everything is hard if you don't know words.

There is the obvious 'the boss is obsessively indexing on the level of the S&P500', but an indirect way that fate of MAGA and that of the current dominant culture in equity/risk markets are intimately related is a similar paranoid fear of being a loser justifying total indulgence wrt downside risk

In my experience, people seeing graphs like this tend to instantly develop two contradictory opinions: firstly that there's some 'natural' reason why the UK 'should' remain richer than Poland, and secondly that Poland will continue growing at the same rate as it surpasses the UK & into the future.

Moderation can happen at the platform level (but won't), or at the police level (which it has been, but v haphazardly) or it cannot happen at all.

If the platform won't police the racial harassment, and the government won't police the platform, and the police won't investigate, it's de facto legal.
