Oh I totally agree with that. But even when that does happen those games seem to sadly be ignored or quickly forgotten. Finding Frankie was pretty neat with its parkour style gameplay but got forgotten EXTREMELY quickly.

Sadly the only footage they showed in the trailer they keep posting is 2 seconds of a circus tent, a live action cutscene with a gratuitous VHS filter (and that's labeled as being filmed in 2025 somehow), and a freaking pause menu.

Also, this is usually the part of The Content Farm Cycle when views are starting to go down on the stuff GameToons has been milking for a while so they are probably scrambling to find what is popular right now.

And both those movies got nominated for or even won Oscars. If you are just limiting yourself to the stuff animation Twitter talks about, you are locking yourself out of some of the most interesting and experimental animation out there.

talking. But then you look at indie animated films that are not talked about in these circles, and there's a lot more letting the visuals tell the story there. Even in the past couple of years, there have even been movies like Flow and Robot Dreams which have no dialogue at all.

The thing about Glitch Productions and a lot of the online indie animated shows people like so much these days is that they rely A LOT on dialogue a lot of the time. As do a lot of mainstream animated shows these days. It's understandable in that it saves money on animating other things besides

That's not to say writing isn't important because it definitely is, you can't just have pretty visuals you need a proper balance of things, but it should go without saying that in a medium like animation the visuals are a high priority and I'm tired of self proclaimed cartoon fans thinking otherwise
