Where Landscape Dances: An Afternoon with Les Scénographies‑Paysages: Attending yesterday at the Mackenzie King Estate on a clear autumn afternoon was like stepping into a dialogue between movement, memory, and place. #Dance #NAC 🇨🇦

Would be nice if our leaders actually cared about reducing inequality instead of just pretending to. But no—we’ve got a self-imposed crisis where any real action is blocked. Inequality rises, b-b-but the budget! Privatization and militarization—it's the same menu every time. Always money for guns.

Should we call this the Antifa Remembrance coin and watch the Conservatives heads explode?

Sad that some would have preferred my ancestors lost their battles against fascism in WWI and WWII. They fought for freedom and equality, something eroded daily by so called "leaders" in Canada.

It's an igneous rock to be able to survive the waves but could be a glacial erratic that was deposited ages ago and the surrounding stone was more porous and simply eroded, leaving the monolith standing alone. There is no immediate glacier in that region but perhaps during the last ice age?

Isn't it obvious? A troll got caught in the sun?

I assume it's a basalt stack common to the region... but it doesn't have the characteristics pattern that you would see in Vik. Or maybe a boulder of gabbro - the type of rock that makes up Vestrahorne, just south of the nature preserve?

Two artists, Philip #Guston and Cy #Twombly, meet in Rome’s Capitoline courtyard, reflecting on Constantine’s colossal hand; through dialogue, they explore gesture, history, and the ethical weight of mark-making across time. #art #Rome #ArtHistory

This meadow along the Healy Pass Trail in Banff is everything I could ask of a meadow. #StunDay
#photography #Canada #hiking #NationalParks
In the foreground, the meadow is covered in purple, red, and yellow flowers. In the background is more green meadow with a scattering of evergreen trees and further back a rock promontory rising along a long ridge.

The ROH is one of the best places in the world to see theatre and dance and opera and all that stuff that makes life worth living. ❤️

Thank you! Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!

Up early, getting the dough ready for baking bread! One batch is olive and cilantro, the other jalapeño and cheddar. Both are for the soup before the turkey, stuffing, potatoes, and pies, leading to the inevitable, well-earned sleep after a perfectly satisfying meal.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Cheddar and jalapeño dough in the bowl getting all the fixings for bread weighed for baking! olive and cilantro bread dough!

Benjamin’s Eingedenken demands fidelity to silenced fragments of the past; true remembrance resists state closure, keeps ruins visible, and transforms memory into both ethical and political resistance, revealing hope beyond the inevitability of "progress".

DarkTable. It takes a while to mimic your LR workflows but it is worth the time. I still use Lightroom Classic on an old laptop if needed but my main digital asset manager is DT. It's open source too: www.darktable.org

More bullshit from the "accountability" crowd. If these cowards had any virtue they would resign.

I wonder what the side dishes would be for this pike meal?

Or did these folks eat a la carte? ❤️

Fucking right it will. These fascists need the billionaires to support them and boycotting goods and services hurt their pocketbooks. Since we don't have any leaders in Canada that will stand up for citizens, we must do it ourselves. #boycott

So how much of a bailout will the Ford government give them?
idonthaveacoolname.bsky.social
Yeah... must suck for him to get that salary and pension benefits for the next few years and then get re-elected and continue to line his own pockets because of voter apathy, media propaganda, and misinformation. Tragic. ;)

Great idea...Let’s get people facing ill health and disabilities to work, only to have them replaced by AI once they’re finally in the job.

The shadow of Mara in Buddhism symbolizes the internal and external forces that hinder spiritual growth. It represents our attachments and fears, pulling us from enlightenment. Overcoming Mara requires confronting both external challenges and the darker aspects of our own nature. #booksky

Laid up with a leg injury and limited mobility, I have turned to audiobooks to supplement my reading. I'm so bored😔

'Living with the Devil' by Stephen Batchelor explores good and evil through Buddhism, framing the devil as anything that blocks freedom and growth.

So destroy more nature for rich people to hit a little ball into a hole? Sounds on-brand for "conservatives" - who don't seem to want to "conserve" anything but the privilege of power and the excesses of wealth hoarding.
