i feel like he’d insist he didn’t want a dog over and over until he met even one(1) abandoned animal with sad eyes and any level of joy to see him, upon which time he’d immediately die for it

(the last issue was a sudden three-day ultimatum where i had to either upend my entire schedule or take a demotion and neither she nor the regional manager could comprehend why i’d be upset about that)

this manager is the fifth in a year and part of the reason i’m quitting and the last time there was an issue i got told “why are you crying there’s no reason to cry about this” in that quizzical wasp mom voice where they think that sentiment will help. so i am not looking forward to this.
