Another Hawkwind gig, another photo with Mr Greenwood and that marvellous tye-dye Hawkbinge shirt 🚀

HAWKWIND doing Hawkwind things in Worthing last night. Brilliant set. First time I've heard the acoustic/spoken "Days of the Underground" - beautiful.
Captain on great form 🚀🚀🚀
Looking forward to giving this one a read 🚀

Very cool and fascinating finds 🙏
Anyone reading this who doesn't follow Joe should do so, he's posting a lot of these 🚀
Today's vintage Hawkwind cut snaffled from the British Library archive is from Sounds, 12 October 1974, and addresses the widespread panic following the band's 'arrest' in the US on tax evasion charges. As manager Doug Smith would say, "let the myth do the work..."

Today's Hawkwind-related cutting is actually from the promotional interviews that Robert Calvert did around the release of Captain Lockheed And The Starfighters, appearing in Sounds, 27 April 1974. Nice hair, Bob...
(BTW, more cuts here: www.daysoftheunderground.com/press-cuttings)

Today's Hawkwind cut from the British Library archive - Sounds, 1 June 1974 - is an interview with Simon House after having just 'officially' joined the band, though he'd actually been with them since January. That look is pure 'hip scientist in early 70s TV sci-fi series'...

And awesome to see Ian and Phillip.. Hawkwind gigs are great meeting-up occasions 🚀🙂✌️
@Abrahams_Ian @PGJonesVenice
Brilliant to see Hawkbinge represented at the gig! Watching Hawkwind, supporting Hawkbinge, saving bees
🙏
I was particularly enamored of the rather spectacular tye-dyed version... Many thanks Andrew & Branwell. The bees will be grateful

Hawkwind at the Barbican. Epic.
Nice mention of Simon House by Dave before Golden Void as well.

Matt said "... and whoever is playing the violin, well they aren't paying him enough for the value he adds to this band"
One of the brightest moments of Hawkbinge was recording the Quark episode, and in particular Matt's description of the "absolutely glorious" instrumental section in Damnation Alley. Listened to the track and the chat again this morning.
RIP Simon House.
