They add that marshals were placed on "standby" once all cars passed T1 after Lap 3.

“As soon as it became apparent that Lawson pitted, instructions to dispatch marshals were rescinded, and a double yellow flag was shown. We are still investigating what occurred after that point.” #F1

The FIA has said it is investigating why Lawson had a near-miss with marshals during the #MexicoGP.

“Following a T1 incident, race control was informed that debris was present on the track at the apex of that corner." #F1

They also said that a possible fire on Sainz's car was the reason for the VSC at the end of the #MexicoGP, as it required marshal intervention.

"The VSC ended as soon as the car was in a protected position, and the race concluded under green flag conditions.” #F1

Norris has overturned a 34-point gap in five races. Verstappen is 36 points behind him and 35 behind Piastri. If not P1, he's looking at P2 in the title race with this form. #F1 #MexicoGP
