My podcast has launched!! Stay tuned for the first episode!

I am also looking for people to share their stories about their nonlinear pathways on this podcast. Have you changed careers? Or do you have interests outside the STEM fields? If so, let’s chat! #ChemSky

If you like desserts with red beans, here is a good and simple one: mashed sweet red beans with sticky rice balls 红豆小圆子 😋 I topped it with osmanthus flower honey, but just regular honey (or syrup) works, too!

What if we replace “synthesis and characterization” in every paper with FAFO 🤣
To materials chemists:
Synthesis= F around
XRD = find out
🤣

Before and after I told him he could not have the chocolate cookie stick #CatSky
Yes, we “have” computers, projectors, and video conferencing in the classrooms…the problem is, they almost never work properly. I can’t remember how many times I go into a classroom and have to troubleshoot some tech stuff
The goal is to normalize a nonlinear career path, foster a growth mentality, and make STEM fields more inclusive, especially for people who have a non-traditional pathway. If you are interested in getting interviewed for my podcast, please let me know, and I can share more information. Thanks! 2/2
Hi #ChemSky I’m planning to start a podcast called “No, I have NOT always been in science”. In each episode, I will feature someone in STEM who has had a nonlinear pathway (e.g. ppl who started outside STEM but switched later; ppl who got heavily involved in non-STEM related activities, etc.) 1/2

I got this question from a student: imagine there is a gas that stays ideal no matter what, does that mean that gas can never be compressed into a liquid? #ChemSky
“You wouldn’t let me eat cat food directly from the bag, yet you just ate ice cream directly from the container.” 😾😡 #CatSky
Yes! This is based on my cat’s purrsonality 😂 We bought a kit from breakoutEDU, which has boxes, hasp, some locks, UV flashlight and marker, etc. I got the rest of the locks and lock boxes from the store (can’t remember where but I believe most supermarkets sell combination locks and boxes)
Physical chemistry escape room today! #ChemSky #ChemEd
I got a hate message from a complete stranger on social media, so I am eating hotpot to celebrate the fact that I am so powerful that my mere existence (without any real interaction) can make someone so angry 😎 #PowerAgainstHate
Perfect, I will look into it during the winter break!
OH MOST DEFINITELY NOT 🤣
I just started learning to play the harmonica, and as a beginner, the sounds I make are…well, not so great, and Hydrogen is very honest about his OPINIONS 🤣 #CatSky
Not goofy question! To make solar panels, you need doped silicon instead of pure silicon, and doping is a type of defects.
Without defects, your gemstones lose colors, your phone becomes paperweight, your solar panel no longer works, and your stainless steel spoons get rusty. Crystals are like people, it is the defects that make us unique and interesting. #ChemSky
