i got yeeted out of the Messenger app four months ago and it refuses to let me back in. i finally gave up. the 2FA isn't working and i just got caught in an endless loop.

but you mention the fishery. hard for the NDP to make gains in the fishery if they are perceived (often rightly!) as a party that would prefer to vastly curtail the fishery for environmental / moral reasons. and it only takes one parachuted candidate into a fishing community to leave that impression

there is a "type" of dedicated NDP member under, say, age 40. and they don't have a good grasp of what it means to live and work and survive in what *should be* communities where they could grow the brand.

if you're very far left on social issues, the gap can be WIDE

i have so many thoughts about why the NDP is so hopeless at building the party and being a viable alternative outside of urban centers

and honestly with a very exceptions i think it boils down to a total unwillingness to actually meet people where they live, both literally & figuratively

when my oldest realized Santa was a pleasant fiction he suddenly said "wait... does this mean you're the Tooth Fairy too?" and when i said yes, he gave me a huge hug and said "oh mum, but you HATE TEETH!"

the things we do for our kids! but "keeping their teeth forever" is not one of those things.

1. throw them away immediately b/c EW GROSS MOUTH-STONES
2. save them all so someday their adult children can find them, be grossed out, and throw them away immediately

M does ours now. He found a YouTube video and follows those steps - makes a big difference. He learned some tricks that make it go a lot smoother!
