i am starting to legitimately think i’ve been hexed. i’ve been sick with the flu/bronchitis for weeks, i developed a cyst on my wrist, and i just woke up & had a nosebleed, which i can’t tell you the last time my nose bled

the phrase “recession indicator” has lost all meaning, but i work in finance & i will tell you there has been a very noticeable uptick in our clients needing to do rollover calls (meaning they got laid off, want to consolidate retirement plans) or them contacting us because they’re getting divorced

We are losing something by having newsrooms where everyone who has more than a few years’ experience has gotten fired. I don’t fault a young writer for not knowing about things that happened before she was born. But now there are no editors to help give context to these stories, either.
