I try to not dismiss my feelings but instead focus on why I’m feeling that way and asking if it’s misplaced or misinterpreted or incorrectly attributed while still letting myself feel what I need to feel.

We can’t change how we feel, but we can seek to know why we feel the way we do.

Just the entire process of self exploration that identity escapism provides.

It lets you try on a more vulnerable and honest persona free from the weight of your own identity/name. This is a common theme in Drag, Furry, Pup, Gear.

It can make you a better and more complete person.

Yeah, there was a good 12 hour period where I couldn’t raise my arm higher than a 90deg angle and my left knee felt like it got shot. Popped some nsaids and was fine the next morning

OH, no joke, look into Ritalin (methylphenidate). Loads of case reports and case studies regarding an unknown mechanism for people who stutter to dramatically reduce the frequency and severity.

Was life changing for me. About 90% reduction, and it comes back if I go without for just a day or two.

There was a time you could reach out to the company who made it for a custom code plug, but it’s been abandoned for about a decade.

Still fun being able to pick up a phone and in my best transatlantic accent say “Set my lights to 30% darlin’” and it just, does heh
