the preposterous narrative that none of the parties involved in this "conflict" want Marwan Barghouti released is about making his imprisonment & torture (like countless other Palestinians) everyone's fault not just Israel's and specifically insinuating Hamas is to blame for what Israelis to do him
🚨’The Hit Is In’ for Marwan Barghouti

Freed prisoner Mahmoud al-Ara’dah told Al Araby TV that Marwan Barghouti, the veteran Fatah leader widely seen as a singular unifying political figure, is “the number one targeted prisoner in the system.”

He said that “from the moment the war began, a war began against Marwan and against his family.” Ben Gvir, he added, personally entered Barghouti’s cell and told him: “You will go out in a wheelchair. We will execute you.” After eight months in solitary confinement at Rimon, Barghouti was transferred to Megiddo prison — which al-Ara’dah described as “a real slaughterhouse” where “major crimes are taking place.”

He said the “hit is there” for Barghouti. Earlier today, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Media Office reported Barghouti lost consciousness and suffered four broken ribs after being brutalized by Israeli guards during his transfer from Rimon to Megiddo Prison in mid-September.

don't know how common it was in countries allied with or fighting Germany to be pro Jewish not anti-Nazi, but in tne context of a global hegemon being the chief facilitator of anything like Zionism & Israel, (American) politicians are either anti-Zionists or varying degrees of enablers/normalizers
There’s no such thing as “non-Zionist.” The term was invented so people could fund & collaborate with the Zionist project without openly claiming it. You’re either opposing Zionism or enabling it, there’s no neutral ground in a settler colony committing genocide. This actually WAS a common position outside of Germany at the time, alongside other surreal attempts at both having and eating cake. But yes, in hindsight it rightly seems absurd, like most “moderate” critiques of Israel today do.

re: I wonder if Zohran Mamdani was running for office during the Holocaust that he would say that he supports Jewish rights, but isn't anti-Nazi.

yeah and one irony of this vaguely pre vs post Trump rightwing dynamic is that in this regard Trump is a lot more like the old guys he cowed/retired than the younger types he emboldened who act like saying esoteric Nazi shit is the ultimate power flex and their version of human rights
“If you have a public role in the GOP, please don’t say ‘rape beaners’ or ‘I love the Holocaust’ or anything like that”

“I’M BEING LONGHOUSED I’M BEING LONGHOUSED I’M WRITING A 3,000-WORD ESSAY ABOUT IT”

"read a book" is often enough the nominally leftist version of mythologies justifying any and all types of aggression including imperial conquest, but without even trying similarly...it's just, well, there's gotta be a book that justifies this, why should I bother to absorb the relevant propaganda

this is hilarious, didn't realize it was at an event for Kirk's memorial in the context of Trump bragging about how unlike Charlie he was nimble enough to dodge the sniper bullet lmao

Cory Booker isn't that oblivious to where the Dem base is on Israel, he's chosing to stick to the Israeli lobby playbook for now (and I guess planning on either running as independent or retiring from politics is he loses the Dem primary over it)
I obviously have no idea if this is where he got this posture from but important to note that AIPAC trains lawmakers to do this, to frame all meaningful criticism of Israel as a somehow a barrier to “peace.” This recasts cowardice and venality as Seriousness and humanitarianism

Brace should have recruited a bunch of politically ambitious fellow Americans
gthanku.bsky.social
like a 5yo playing fortune teller puts more effort into selling the bit than Trump robotically going over America's Judeo-Christian founding etc as a set up for Charlie Kirk in heaven "looking down on us, right now, so incredible, look at this" lol
gthanku.bsky.social
Trump never enjoyed playing the religious guy and now he's probably more comfortable not pretending as much he believes in all the Christian stuff, but that's boring anyway so
WHITE HOUSE PRESS RELEASE: The president’s heart is the strongest we’ve ever measured

TRUMP: (unprompted, 8th time in 4 months) it’s really something to be beyond redemption isn’t it folks? I think when my soul is weighed by Anubis it will be found (enunciating) quite bad

re: Trump: I don’t think there’s anything that’s going to get me into heaven. I think I’m not heaven bound. I’m not sure I’m going to be able make heaven
gthanku.bsky.social
doing stuff specifically in service of Jewish supremacy isn't primarily doing a white supremacy.
(most Arabs here are Christians, altogether a very small minority & the role of Zionism in US politics over decades is a huge factor in anti Arab/Muslim sentiment & "Islamic terrorism" framing of Arabs)
gthanku.bsky.social
sorry if my wording is too harsh but this is a running theme in general & specifically about Israel/Zionism, so I think the comparison between these talking points is relevant here (the just weird category imo is framing certain groups as inherently special goblin people outside of such a context)
gthanku.bsky.social
the relevant racism/racial system in question is Jewish supremacy & non Jewish politicians, influencers etc catering to it opportunistically like Booker aren't doing a white supremacy or a crackerism or whatever...the world is bigger than contemporary US politics, other stuff exists concurrently.
gthanku.bsky.social
respectfully fuck all the way off with this decade-old identity politics bullshit, extra weird in this context and not unlike Israelis trying to appropriate US idpol with talking points like 'over half of our genocidal soldiers aren't even white/ European'
gthanku.bsky.social
anti-Zionism is the future anyway & a US politician is either anti Zionist or effectively pro Israel status quo & consequently also pro the cancerous role Zionism plays in American politics

(likewise "not anti-Nazi" was effectively pro Nazi Germany esp in Holocaust context)

The conversations have allowed Mamdani to reframe his previous positions, tweaking the us-versus-them language of his democratic-socialist values to be a tad less punitive. He has made it clear that he wants to support renters, not punish landlords. He wants to support public education, not take a hammer to specialized schools with elite admissions. He supports Palestinian rights; he's not anti-Zionist. He made key concessions when it comes to policing.
Importantly, he made clear that he was open to compromise when it came to his proposed millionaires' tax. Call it Mamdani 2.0.

you gotta pay them a subscription to read the kind of expertise that's like routine KFOR rotations don't mean anything, but they're nevertheless significant when we gotta Turkey monger here at the Belgrade based Western financed independent news and takes factory lol
Kosovo’s purchase of ‘kamikaze’ drones from Turkey is about more than just beefing up security in dangerous times. Turkey is pursuing a ‘deliberate political project’ in the Balkans to secure greater leverage, experts say.
Coinciding with Turkey taking command of NATO-led peacekeeping efforts in Kosovo, Pristina’s purchase of Turkish-made Skydagger ‘kamikaze’ drones has further strengthened the military partnership between the two countries, to the anger of Serbia.

The two developments were not necessarily coordinated, but together they serve to underscore Ankara’s growing prominence as a security partner of Kosovo and a leading arms exporter to the region at a time of higher military expenditure in Europe in light of Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine.

otoh I bet there's enough gen Z men and women looking to if not already doing this about people younger than them...kids these days etc, it's how it goes (reminds me of an expression that essentially says being on the younger end of this dynamic is worse than shit lol)
gthanku.bsky.social
can't believe younger men are generally less sexist and racist than older men despite all the takes to the contrary by older men and women in the take business

🧵/ Our major new study on young men, masculinity, and misogyny questions the extent to which Gen Z men are really more likely to hold misogynist views than older generations of men
gthanku.bsky.social
the subject here is a fucking American facilitated genocide and Zohran Mamdani wouldn't even be in the political position he is is now without the Palestinian resistance he condemns like a freaking Israeli bur only after using Palestinian suffering to win the actual race/
Dem primary, so yeah STFU.
gthanku.bsky.social
hate to hand it to 🐿️ but it's so bizarre for Zohran to do a liberal Zionism pivot in 2025; Both Sides starting w Israel suffering propaganda like calling POWs hostages & unsubstantiated torture claims vs thousands of Palestinian hostages Israelis rioted for the right to rape to death being detainees
you are watching in real time Zohran's transition into a J-Street Zionist cuck while still pretending to be a pseudo-radical. Notice how he immediately begins with the crying about Israeli rape-soldiers and calls them "hostages", but he does not use that same phrase for the actual Palestinian hostages. All of this is deliberate. All his scripts are now being written by his J-Street handlers like Matt Duss. It's over.
gthanku.bsky.social
older movies were like Adriano Celentano falls Madly in Love (Innamorato pazzo, 1981) with Ornella Muti and she's supposed to find him irresistibly charming, so we gotta make sure that when he's not wearing a hat his hair looks like it's on strike protesting getting waterboarded
gthanku.bsky.social
(sommelier voice) this pairs really well with righteous indignation about anyone describing the motivating political ideology as what it actually is
gthanku.bsky.social
Adelsons, Saban, other Zionist political operators beyond donors are pretty transparent re: Israel being their nr 1 agenda. yes it's a big problem that Zionism in US/Western politics looks like antisemitic tropes but no you can't make it go away by just screaming "tropes" after these past two years.
Trump tells the Israeli Knesset that he once asked Miriam Adelson, "What do you love more - the United States or Israel?"

Suggesting that Jews have 'dual loyalties' is an antisemitic trope that goes back centuries.
gthanku.bsky.social
@eliclifton.com notes media like Reuters & WSJ censoring Trump's "Israel First" backhanded compliment re his biggest & most persistent donors, which makes it weirder given the news as such is Trump as president saying more or less what he said a decade ago abt outcompeting Rubio as their puppet lol
Trump, Oct 2015: Sheldon Adelson is looking to give big dollars to Rubio because he feels he can mold him into his perfect little puppet. I agree! by May 2016 Trump was bragging about "Sheldon Adelson Pledges $100 Million to Elect Trump President"
gthanku.bsky.social
Trump in Knesset says the Adelsons visited the White House more than anyone, got him to move the US embassy to Jerusalem etc.

Trump then says he asked Miriam Adelson "What country do you love more? Israel or the United States? She refused to answer. That means—that might mean Israel."
