Avelo Airlines abandoned the West Coast back in July. This week it made a few more cuts on the East Coast including two routes from Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) and one from Islip's Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP). Avelo is also pulling one of two aircraft that it housed in Raleigh. The three routes getting the ax include: Raleigh-Durham International Airport (RDU) to/from Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) (ends on January 6th)

We hope for a huge, successful No Kings turnout, but we’re concerned that the left is placing too many eggs in this one basket where mass peaceful resistance is concerned. We need to rally behind other strategies esp. if No Kings marches (or big marches in general) become unworkable for any reason.

This week in 1988: 1,000+ ACT UP demonstrators shut down the FDA headquarters, demanding (and eventually winning) action on developing HIV/AIDS treatments. ACT UP's militant and creative actions always included powerful visual artwork, and paved the way for movements in the decades to come.

Absolutely right, if things stay on the current trajectory. But here’s where we have to say, “Things can’t stay on this trajectory.” We have to treat fascism as a full-blown emergency and find peaceful protest methods to match. Look into what we’re doing, join, amplify.
