I can’t help but think today about how many young people were savaged on social media, branded as anti-semites and abandoned by their schools for daring to call for a ceasefire. I remember saying that it was the first time I can remember that calling for ceasefire was regarded as a hostile demand.

The rooms were filled with folks puzzling, painting minis, playing games, and just being together. It was everything we hoped this space could be — and more.

I’m exhausted in the best way, and still in disbelief that we actually did it.

Even with a few hiccups (because what’s an opening without them?), the store was packed. People brought gifts — bookmarks, earrings, keychains, balloons, incense — and I’m not gonna lie, I might have cried five separate times before the doors even opened. 😭

We went to soft opening of a super cool new book and games store in Cedar Park yesterday, @thesecretlantern.bsky.social!

It's a fantastic space, that occupies an old bank and even has their board games inside the VAULT! If you're in the Austin area you should definitely check it out!
