Prophylaxis is praxis.

Why are some still spreading misinfo that "masks only work when everyone wears one," & use it as an excuse not to mask as "no-one else is."

It isn't all or nothing. While it's safer when more mask because there's less virus in the air, a well-fitting mask protects you even if no-one else masks.

It’s an invasion from within!

I love that TBS is letting Teoscar Hernandez and Pedro Martinez go on about the DR in Spanish. Even if I barely understand, it feels like a statement for our time.

If you got it, flaunt it, baby, flaunt it!

In her defense, she didn’t lose it alone. What’s the saying? Oh yeah, “it takes a village.”

But yeah, Pelosi was a Nobel Laureate in amassing power—but as for using that power for something besides more donations… for the sake of brevity, I’ll say, “results were mixed.”

I’m constantly amazed that so many peers who’d go to the mat for facts & science on virtually any other Trump-era issue—who rightly rail against injustice & the empathy gap seen in this epoch—blithely reject public health & pandemic precautions as soon as it gets in the way of [checks notes] brunch.

Really disappointed & surprised to see this unscientific & unkind take from you, @jamellebouie.net. COVID is still dangerous: it can cause organ- & immune system damage. New damning studies—that aren’t reported by the media—come out regularly.

Leadership gets to be leadership by raising a lot of money and then doling it out for campaigns in exchange for loyalty. (It is not a coincidence that Chuck & Hakeem are proximate—physically & politically—to Wall St.)

Grassroots candidates can really screw with this model.

The recruitment (& it apparently took a lot of convincing) of 78 going on 79-year-old Mills also exposes another consistent failure of Dem leaders: defining every race as only “anti Trump.”

Maybe beltway Dems like that framing because it doesn’t commit the party to any specific policy changes.

Democratic leadership didn’t recruit Janet Mills because they are worried Graham Platner couldn’t win the general; they recruited Mills because they are worried he could.

I only have a few days left to find my inflatable murrain costume for the No Kings demo.
Three persons in inflatable frog costumes. One of them is holding a nicely painted sign with two little cartoon frogs holding hands, below the text "FROGS TOGETHER STRONG"

Going full Riefenstahl wasn’t enough?

He probably fell asleep during daddy’s home movie night screening of “TRIUMPH of the Will” and missed Time’s allusion.

In the 1980s, when NBC got the World Series alternate years, he did TV with Joe Garagiola… and I feel like around the same time, he might have had a national radio deal some years.

Vin used to do national game of the week casts for a while, and football and golf, too, but again that was 70s-80s.

Except they both would have been sitting at home because MLB sold the exclusive broadcast rights to the channel that used to do basketball.

Yeah, I mean, winning is sooo much better than losing, but I am dying a little with every pitch.

I’d like to end more games with a “yeah, baby!” & fewer with “thank fucking god!” #NLCS

Damn how I wish I weren’t blacked out of the local coverage, @mlb.com. These national parachute reporters are not going to calm my nerves.

It worked. But still, I am not OK.
