Wow, some impressive rainfall totals around the Bay Area. Much of this fell in just a few hours. 1.69 inches in San Jose would make it a top 10 wettest day in the last two decades. And how about that 2.19 inch reading in Oakland!

Also, what a funny little pop up shower. Pouring in Point Richmond.

Oh hi there! Parent low pressure system is finally making its way to the Bay Area tonight. This system has already dumped a ton of rain across NoCal and figures to wreck more havoc on CA tomrorrow.

Rain is approaching San Francisco and will begin within the next 30 min. Downpours across the Bay Area could cause nuisance flooding, especially during the evening commute. Thunder and lightning is possible as the atmosphere becomes increasingly unstable this afternoon. #CAwx

Its going to be a wet Monday in the Bay Area. The seasons first storm will impact just about every part of California. Heavy snow in the Sierra. Thunderstorms on the coast and in the Central Valley. Flash flooding concerns in SoCal. Storm season has begun!

A powerful storm will slam California with rain, thunder and snow. Here’s what to expect
Some areas could see a month’s worth of rain by Tuesday, while the Sierra braces for several feet of early season snow.

Not sure I’ve seen a more calm night on the Bay. 84 in the city today. Supermoon on deck tonight.

Anyone else noticing a lot of sickly looking bees today?

This is quite useful at the moment since the main NWS radar in the Santa Cruz Mountains is out of service today due to technical issues.

Must be raining in San Francisco, right?

Nope. Dry air at the surface. No droplets reaching the ground. Some nice moisture laden cloud cover though and I am liking the "muggy" feel for a change of pace.

The lightning threat won't go away though. Need to be aware across the region this afternoon!
