I lived in Paris for 10 years. After a couple of months I knew I was going to stay longer than the 6 months I’d planned to. I started to learn French. My French friends couldn’t believe how foreigners learn French. I’d say a Fr/Eng person would fail A-Level Fr/Eng in each others country.
