Hearing that the govt is being retooled into chasing ghosts would make more sense, given that left wing violence is nearly nonexistent, especially in comparison to the over abundance of violence from the right.

None of them are young. These aren't kids. They are all adults. Adults in positions of influence and some with very real political power. You can look at Cambodia under Pol Pot to see how unleashed radicalized ‘young’ men handle unrestrained authority over their fellow countrymen.
