Three wins in a row is a great place to be in after four games. All the negatives still have so much time to be ironed out, and some are already on the board and getting warm. Be happy, and tune in for Friday's game. It's gonna be Wild.

A couple guys who were looking a bit invisible found some apples, so I can't hate. I just hope PL takes after them when he gets back.

Ryan Leonard continues his young but established tradition of being on his ass more than his skates. Teams know he's easy to push around at this stage, but he's starting to push back and I like that. I wonder if he wouldn't be well-served with some Dowd line time like Miroshnichenko got last year.

I feel the need to bury it, but Ovechkin. Did not like his play in this one. Flashes of hustle, but not enough to justify his deployments and power play time. Losing the puck, not being mobile when it matters, that kinda thing. I know he's old, but he's old.

Two of the best goalies in the world both looked very good but of course beatable tonight. There was some pretty low shot volume (47 total), so the ones that slipped through felt big.

The PK looked good still, even though the Bolts did get one PPG to go. It's always gonna happen. I also thought the Caps did well tonight in winning the most important face-offs, or making them messy if they couldn't.

I was convinced that Duhaime was going to drop the gloves a couple times in this one: it wasn't going to be Chychrun or Leonard, who kept getting into shit, and he was chirping harder than anyone except maybe Wilson, who knows his value well.

Some of the same frustrations are still there. The power play finally got a goal (officially), but it doesn't look good yet. Connor McMichael had a crashout on the bench that looked eerily similar to Pierre-Luc Dubois' last game. That could be due to both teams getting under the skin of the other.

That was a fun one. Not perfect, not close to it, but fun. The Washington Capitals clear up the Lightning from Tampa Bay, 3-2 in overtime. #ALLCAPS

What an overtime. What a setup, what a finish, what an end to this game. Chychy was getting chippy with it all night and comes out ready to do something about it. Something special about leaving an arena to Bandz a Make Her Dance. #ALLCAPS

PP1 is not forgiven but this definitely helps. #ALLCAPS

He wants that 3C spot so bad and he might just get it

Not only is the Caps' power play bad, it doesn't seem to be getting better or changing in any way, four games in

If you're not already sold on Sourdif (I was before he even debuted), get to a game if you can and focus on his shifts. Does everything right in all zones. Screw the picks (I hope one doesn't turn into a superstar in a few years and make me look dumb).

If you ignore the power play (that first unit still has some issues), that was a good first period for the Caps, I thought. O-zone play was good, liked most of the defense. If they keep it up, the scoring should follow. Still down 1-0 to the Lightning for now. #ALLCAPS

Sandin still making sure he's the last one on the ice. I think he'd stay out there until puck drop if he could.

I can report that warm-ups are happening, and the "improved" arena WiFi is not improved. Also a soda is smaller and more expensive now. We love our fans #ALLCAPS

Storms coming up from the South Atlantic tend to weaken or break up before they can do much damage in DC. Under cloudy skies, we'll see if it holds true as the Washington Capitals attempt to fend off the Tampa Bay Lightning. Tonight at 7, both teams are looking to prove something. Who will? #ALLCAPS

The next game comes Tuesday, when the Caps host the Lightning. I'll be in the building for the first time in what feels like forever, and hopefully we'll see this young winning streak grow by one.

Something's going to work, but more importantly, it's only been three games and two of them were wins. It's easy to be down on the Caps' play, but like we saw last year, there can be a lot to dislike while they still play winning hockey. Critique, but don't crash out. This is still a great team.

I'm glad PLD is getting mad, and I'm glad Ovechkin is too (although he's up to two assists now). There's a good few guys on this team that haven't yet played like they're capable of playing. Coach Carbery is already experimenting with personnel and line combos, and I expect that to continue.
