“I was hung from the metal shackles on my wrists and ankles and beaten in the stomach, back, face, ear and skull by a group of men and women guards, one of whom sat on my neck and face, blocking my airways…Our cell was awoken with threats of rape.”

ICE secretly kidnap autistic boy during bathroom break—never notify parents.

Mother reported him missing a week ago—turns out ICE had him detained the whole time.

He was helping sell fruit and asked to go to the restroom—by the time she was done helping a customer he was gone.

“You need to be tracking everyone that is close to them. If you know their bodyguards, if you know their spouses, if you know their kids. All those phones are very essential for the eventual killing of someone, you know.”

This really is one helluva story.

Amid questions of whether or not any of this is legal, paychecks are rolling out to troops today. Some are reporting discrepancies, including not being paid in full. New by @dflawrence.bsky.social @taskandpurpose.com

Earlier today, $JPM reported $14.4 billion in income for Q3, so I thought it would be a good time to call Chase and see if they were willing to lower the rate on my Sapphire Card, which renews soon at $1185 for the year for 3 cards. No dice, so card will be cancelled.

A look at the "absolute devastation" in western Alaska today reminds us that climate change will continue to inflict suffering on the people who are least responsible for it.

The Trump admin is laying off nearly 200 CISA employees & forcing dozens more to take new jobs at other agencies (sometimes across the country) or quit.

Morale & productivity are sinking at the already-depleted agency, further jeopardizing US cybersecurity.

My story w/ new details: bit.ly/3KLoptn
Layoffs, reassignments further deplete CISA
Some CISA staffers have been pushed out, while others are being told to move across the country for jobs outside their skill sets.

..."outposts or on patrols, we would learn the truth was far more complicated. I'm still in touch with many of those soldiers and Marines we met long ago. I'm having a beer with one of them the end of this week. They want the truth to get out, too. "

"We got to know soldiers and Marines over the years while embedding with them, talking with them and getting their perspective, which was often far different from what we were told officially at the Pentagon. Sometimes officials at the Pentagon would declare progress or success. Out in dusty combat

A lot of this data, such as the T-Mobile leak, is now encrypted thanks to the researchers' work. But all of it was obtained from a single dish on the roof of a building in San Diego. These findings are based on just 15% of geostationary satellite signals over the US and Mexico.

But some of the data the researchers found was even more sensitive: US and Mexican military and law enforcement communications that revealed the locations of personnel, equipment, and facilities. Industrial control system communications to power grids and offshore oil and gas.
