My city council met last week. Complaints were made regarding increased property taxes and utility costs.

In response, two members motioned to defund an emergency shelter, our only no barriers shelter. We get to as low as -40, before windchill during the winter.

I'm genuinely confused by the perception of Chicago, especially with the current push for the National Guard.

I just visited - it genuinely felt like a large midwestern town. It DID feel incredibly over policed. At one point I counted four separate cop cars in a fifteen minute period.

I go on FB once a month and use it for its marketplace/craigslist functions. While trying to identify what put me off about it, I counted how many posts I saw that were from someone I followed. 3/18 . Everything else was an ad or recommendation.
