*Rangoli is an art form and a traditional part of Diwali celebrations. It involves patterns being created on the floor or a tabletop using materials such as powdered limestone, red ochre, dry rice flour, coloured sand, quartz powder, flower petals, and coloured rocks.

*Pani Puri are crispy hollow fried balls (puri) that are then filled with potato, onion and chickpeas and a sour and spicy mint flavoured water. They are morsels of pure deliciousness.

Any typos spotted in this post spent a delightful few hours at a Diwali Festival yesterday. If typos spotted, please don't comment on them going back for second helpings of everything. Typos are food motivated beasties and there was far too much scrumptiousness to resist!

🧵Spotted at a Diwali Festival in Aotearoa New Zealand:

A tiny human (1 and a bit?) in a sparkly red dress is tottering along while holding Grandma's hand. She's a little bit wobbly but Grandma's keeping her steady. Tiny bells around Tiny Human's ankles tinkling joyfully as she goes. (1)

😂 Plenty of seagulls but they're so well fed they're not aggressive or particularly inspired. I saw one pass up a chunk of croissant today!
