if you want to know how much games culture has actually changed just remember tim rogers review of ninja gaiden ii in 2008 which said that itagaki's sexual harassment accusation was both extremely cool and probably fake and also if he wants to make a good game he should kill himself like mishima

i'm on fewer things that give multiple bodies for guide so unless i had like exactly pride/vov it's likely not doing anything until t4, not inspired by how little it does by itself
admittedly haven't had many creature midrange matchups since but they're often getting shot by red removal there anyway

haha he's been doing well with it! it would have been cool to see the 3-0 but i felt a little bad crushing the dream in the finals 😅

i felt like they weren't doing enough on their own, esp against combo but even in midrange matchups they're often low impact unless left totally alone (unlikely)

28. Hades II (2025)
i liked hades quite a bit and this is definitely more hades! i think the writing is looser and the characters not quite as charming as the original (ending is also pretty underwhelming), the gameplay structure still works very well though of course and it's just very fun to play

i only really got to see them once each in my games but arachne peeking & naming instant was unsurprisingly very solid against flying men, and spectacular spider-man just as 3/2 for 2 with flash baseline felt totally reasonable
