I read the news today, oh boy...

(will be on repeat until further notice)
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
I never claimed you said "democrats should try to lose elections on purpose so they never win". I just asked how Democrats are supposed to get any power to use, unless they win elections. I just asked you, repeatedly, to explain your own words. That you can't do so is your problem, not mine.
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
Okay, let me add a screenshot of your own words, because you've apparently forgotten what you said. You say you accomplish things by "using the power you have". I once again ask how you are supposed to have power without winning elections. I don't know how much simpler I can make it for you.
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
My answer is: I never did any such thing, you petulant, childish buffoon. Are you being deliberately obtuse, or does it just come naturally to you? I haven't made up a thing, I'm simply asking how a party is supposed to wield power without first winning it through the electoral process.
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
You should try learning how to answer a very simple question, instead of responding with childish insults: How is a party supposed to have power to use, unless they can win elections?
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
Again, how is anybody supposed to use power, without getting power, which is done by winning the election?
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
But it's rather difficult to use power, if you haven't won the election. They generally don't give power to the people who lose.
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
Not quite sure what you're asking, but I believe the answer is that Democrats never had authoritarianism as the goal, so electing them would not result in that happening.
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
So, would it be happening right now, or four years from now? Because you said both.

But the main thing is that you appear to making the asinine argument that voting doesn't matter, which is how we got into this mess in the first place, because it turns out that voting very much fucking does matter.
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
I encourage you to spend five seconds reading your own post.
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
I did read your post, and that's pretty much exactly what you said. Then again, you're likely one of those people who withheld their vote to 'punish the Dems' for not passing your purity test, and instead ended up punishing the whole damn world.

"No, it would not have prevented all the fascist shit that is happening right now."

So, you're saying Kamala Harris would have deployed the National Guard to various cities and sent ICE to kidnap people off the street? Because that's...well, you probably do honestly believe that, who am I kidding.
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
Okay, so...electing Kamala Harris in 2024 would not have prevented all the fascist shit that we're seeing right now? Because if I'm wrong, then that statement would have to be correct.
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
Is any of this even remotely surprising? We're living in the era where 12-year-olds who thought they were being clever and edgy by calling everybody the N-word while playing Counterstrike are now running for Congress, what did you expect?
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
I'm gonna go out in a limb here, since I majored in Manufacturing, not PoliSci, but I have suspicion that, if we had won the election, the current authoritarianism may have been prevented.
gdkalmbach.bsky.social
Just got somebody yesterday calling from "your tv service". Then they said they were from Charter, which isn't even available where I live.

I don't have a tv service. I should've stayed on the line and wasted as much time as possible.

So much this! Each used to have their distinctive architecture.

Columbus day should be republicans favorite holiday.

A white man, funded by someone else’s money went to someone else’s place, lied to them, pretended to be their friends, made broken promises then killed them, starved them, stole their land, their humanity and their future all for money and riches

For me, it's South Carolina. I don't know how many times I had to hit the brakes because people don't understand that when turning left, you must yield to oncoming traffic.

And everybody going 10-15 over the limit at all times didn't help.

And that's when I'm not using my IBM Selectric III. Great way to minimize distractions.

And I was conductor of Metra 614 that day, which made things even funnier when I saw what was going on at the other end of my train.

I had a suspicion that date was significant, and I was right. Well played, Mr. Yote.

Not really that familiar with pop music, but I think this is one of the most impressive and also unexpected covers I've ever heard.

Well, prepare to get even more butthurt, because somebody has installed Loona in the cab of the AEM-7. That is, somebody who has a key to the padlock on the cab door.
