At the start of covid, I was doing an ABG for a pt under resp. Knew the recently-appointed consultant and she was like "you use local?".

She was a bit surprised by "yes because of *your* specialty's guidelines".

Yes, if I recall correctly they had been in status, they had two agents + the benzodiazepines to terminate it and we arrived as second agent was going in and they were on escalating o2 therapy and desaturating
They ended up having airway pressures that made the picu nursing team unsettled, until what I presume might have been neg pressure pulm oedema settled
