I don’t know who needs to hear this right now, but just in case it’s you, you matter.
Whoever you are and whatever you are.
Unless you’re a Nazi.
Or a TERF.
Or a cunt.
But everyone else, you matter.
And don’t forget that.

Seeing as the only GWR train I’ve ever been on is a 230 that was so packed there was no room to sit (and therefore see any seats), I bow to your greater wisdom on this matter

Prison isn’t really a deterrent.
They’re effectively universities of crime where “graduates” are thrown out without any support to get them back on their feet.
At least with restorative justice he’d be able to learn his trade, work, with deductions leaving just enough to live to make good the loss…

Under pre-conquest Welsh law, a criminal has to make good the loss they’d caused, with further punishment reserved for those who couldn’t/wouldn’t pay what was due.
I think there is a lot to be learned from that system. Here we are, he’s thrown in gaol, public left with €5m cost.

Wouldn't be surprised if they scrap equal marriage and ban same-sex or single parent adoption.
Then devolution will be scrapped, to be replaced with gerrymandering and the politicisation of the civil service.

Isn't that West Midlands moquette on the seats?

Makes my 12 days tour of Israel, which I had to pay for, seem almost mediocre!

Best school trip was to the Maritime Museum in Liverpool.

College however, went to a working nuclear power station, actually inside where we had to carry radiation sensors.

Also went to Brussels for a week. Cost £1 because EU funding, included a guided tour of @europarl.europa.eu.

I would SO love to be there, but coming so soon after two pre-booked events is not going to happen. Alas.

He was well known for his large columns, just ask Emma Hamilton…

I just thought my body was taking the piss…

I actually lost Cwmbrân yesterday afternoon. Found it hours later in a box of mk.1s. Exactly where I’d put it.

Nelson. Probably the most famous of Royal Navy admirals.
Odd chap, lost an arm and an eye in Napoleonic Wars, bought pretty badges right before a battle, wore them in plain sight of enemy, ended up getting shot, last words asking some guy to kiss him!

I had dodgy symptoms in 2020, spoke with GP, urine test straight away, nothing other than blood, urgent referral, full works with urologist within about 3-4 weeks. All clear thankfully. But was mightily impressed with response, esp so soon after first lockdown!

Some here with a PB2, think they’re Nelson!

Some of the boat owners I encounter at work, I can’t help but think Darwin Awards waiting to happen…

Me though, too young for screening.

When I worked in the NHS, there was a patient on a ward I worked on.
A GP.
In his early 30s maybe?
Young kids.
Terminal bowl cancer.
Multiple metastases.
He’d ignored all the symptoms.
Paid for it with his life.

In Wales we get sent the sampling sticks that the lab uses, so all you do is poke your turd, put it in reply-paid envelope then post off to Cwnbrân I think it is.

And I should add, only half-heartedly implementing those recommendations because they're concentrating on class V pax vessels yet ignoring class VI.
So it is now the case that a vessel working in Cat C waters (rivers basically) has more restrictions than one that can go up to 3 miles to sea!

I've pre-emptively bookmarked this thread as I'm not far logging off and pouring myself a glass of cider, but I'll get back to it tomorrow :)

No, we take 10 years before holding and inquiry as to whether there should be an inquiry, to decide there should be an inquiry, then then take 35 years to finally implement the last of the recommendations.

And yes, I am looking at the Marchioness here...

True. But also, the current situation in France intrigues me. Not that I understand much of it.
