FiveEvil: Fiendish 5e Horror

My upcoming horror #TTRPG, made from twisting 5e until it squealed, and sprinkling some indie game genius over the mess.

Kickstarter link: www.kickstarter.com/projects/jon...

Index thread follows…
The cover of FiveEvil shows a D20 dice, upon which is sat a fly. When studied closely, we can see the fly has tiny hands. The logo is large and appears broken and fractured. The word "Five Evil" is large, with the subtitle "Fiendish 5e Horror".

Across the bottom of the cover a tag line reads: "a game of unnerving terror, subverting the expectations of the world's greatest RPG"

The “handiwork” part isn’t lip service. Packing sets of FiveEvil intensity coasters this morning reading for dispatch.

Emily Care Boss’s Breaking the Ice needs a shout-out, and not just for being first (Ghost Dog aside). The systemic stuff could be smoother but it still has some great, jagged ideas. The whole 2-player RPG scene lives in the space it created, AND it’s a great game.

There’s a thing we’re working on, and we’re not quite ready to go loud on it yet, properly, but gosh, working with @floaker.bsky.social and Gregor Hutton is just magical, kicking the ball around and everyone is adding so much.

Amazing Paul Bourne art because I’m a horrible tease.

Welcome, and I’m sorry, during election season you will see Chris Bishop approximately 3x/day

Great that voters did not care about the candidate being trans! But @adzebill.bsky.social has advised they are cooker-aligned so perhaps not one to regret missing of your list

Worth reading, don’t agree with everything here, of course, but it’s still an interesting perspective

Hopeful for a new approach to play to bubble up and sweep everyone off their feet though

This scene drives me nuts! This was a fave sequence in the book, but what possessed them to film a sequence about things that move when you don’t look by changing the setup for every shot so you can never compare before and after? Inexplicable

(er, not the stuff about how "EVIL IS REPELLED FROM THE MONSTRANCE!", that feels foreign to me. But showing up for social justice and paying attention to real need in the world, *that* was at the heart of it.)

Out of the run of messy episodes in Twin Peaks season 2, this one stands out as not at all terrible. Diane Keaton's directing is one good reason why.

I’ve been out of the faith game for many decades now but this kinda thing is what Catholicism was to me growing up.

Plus a bunch of songs that I can still sing of course

Chicago priest Fr. Larry Dowling describes procession to ICE facility: “No one had the courage to speak directly to us. No one from Homeland Security could stand in the presence of the Monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament. No wonder. Evil is repelled, recoils in the presence of Christ.”

For a brief period last year I had three copies of this book. Still never properly read it. One day!

heck those vote totals are close!!! great result though!
fromthemorgue.bsky.social
Yeah there's a lot to be happy about in those results. The numbers for Levy aren't great but I'd put an asterisk on that. She ran her whole campaign without mentioning her extensive involvement with Speak Up For Women, which seems deeply unethical; she was just "candidate who likes dogs" for many.

Seems like Guppy is out and Zee is in!!! huge!

here in the Hutt even the right wing folks on council and running for mayor wanted to keep them. They can see the value, past the crazy rhetoric.
