I love taking pictures of cool people doing things. I'll use this thread to post about the works I'm most proud of.
I didn't bet everything on AI, I kept part of my NFT as backup in case the AI bubble bursts.
Ok, here we go, after a few years of antici
It's only Broderie if it comes from the French village of Brode. Otherwise it's just sparkling couture.
I have a bunch of highly visible big games in my queue, but I managed to snick in an indie game that deserves a shout-out.
Öoo is a delightful puzzle game that managed to make me feel like a genius after solving puzzles that I had to think on for exactly the right time to not give up on.
For a normal person, a playthrough is probably 80 to 100 hours. It took me a few hours to really get into it, but the liberty it gives you and how unique each playthrough is, is something no other game ever did and probably no other will in the future.
Surprising absolutely nobody, I loved Baldur's Gate 3 and want to start a new run immediately after finishing the first one.
Spent 160h in it because I needed to check every pixel of every map...
And I have Silksong and Hades II queued already. What a time for escapism!
My biggest disappointment!
The basic concept had a ton of potential. The horror of noisy overcrowded buildings is not lost on me. And the first 10 minutes are super promising.
Then the movie completely loses confidence, drops its interesting ideas and starts threading clichés with no direction.
NOISE - 2024 - Kim Soo-jin
A young woman with hearing loss visits the apartment where her sister disappeared after complaining about the weird noises from the neighbors.
With her new hearing aids, she can now hear these disturbing sounds too.
And talking to the neighbors is not reassuring her...
A nice pitch, raising interesting questions and good fighting scenes.
But on the other hand, the scenario is very predictable and not very solid. Overall not a bad movie, but there are so many incredible Korean action movies that I was expecting more.

THE OLD WOMAN WITH THE KNIFE - Min Kyu-dong
An aging hitwoman working for a company specialized in targeted murders is on her way out when a young man gets recruited, who seems very interested in her.
A movie with some brutal and well choreographed fights.
Between a modern western and a mafia movie, Trapped has some great shots and is visually very well thought-out.
It has many twists that keep it interesting, even if it could have benefited from a little less twists in the final minutes.
Overall a very good experience.
Trapped - Sagara (Qi Zhang)
A small Chinese town in the middle of the desert is suddenly invaded by a gang of 44 criminals with heavy weaponry. Three police officers armed with a single revolver are trying to stop them while a massive sandstorm is about to hit the town.
🇨🇵 Pour mes followers francophones, une bonne idée de cadeau. Plaisir d'offrir, joie de faire paniquer les fachos...
À propos de la BD Vertu de St-Cyr et du harcèlement sexiste
A harsh horror movie about the figure of the witch and about rural communities. An uncomfortable movie with striking images.
I found it really interesting.
HER WILL BE DONE - Julia Kowalski
Nawojka works on a farm with her family, in a remote French village. A young woman returns to a nearby house. The whole village seems to hide some stories with this woman that they don't want to see here, while Nawojka is fascinated by her.
An hilarious take on zombie movies. Not as weird as Taroman, it is nonetheless very weird and unique. It did evoke Junji Ito to me in the fact that it does create discomfort through exacerbating harmless behaviors, but without ever being as terrifying as Ito.
I enjoyed it very much!
NEW GROUP - Yûta Shimotsu
"Ai, a shy high-school student, becomes close to Yu, a rebellious new student. One day, dozens of students suddenly start forming a huge human pyramid. By refusing to give in [...], Ai and Yu first become outcasts and then targets.[...]"
Zombie synchronized gymnastics!
Marâma is presented as an horror movie. In reality, it takes the codes of Gothic Horror but completely turns them on their head, giving a "cathartic movie".
Some people will (do) complain that it is de-fanged and not frightening, but I did enjoy it a lot.

MĀRAMA - Taratoa Stappard
In Victorian England, a young Maori woman is invited to an isolated manor house in Yorkshire. She's traveled around the globe to learn about her family, but the man she's come to see is dead and her host is too familiar and welcoming...
Gothic Horror meets colonialism...
The first 20 minutes are one of the most hilarious and weird things I've ever seen. The whole room was laughing loudly while I was wondering "are they going to do 90 minutes of nonsense? will it become old?"
Yes! No!
A scenario and a message appear that kept me hooked.
A fantastic movie!

TAROMAN EXPO EXPLOSION - Ryo Fujii
Osaka 1970, during the World Expo, a bunch of kaijus attack the city. The Earth Defense Force fights them with the help of Taroman, a nonsensical giant. They then continue the fight in the futuristic world of 2025...
Every year in Strasbourg, we have the FEFFS, European Fantastic Film Festival. For two weeks, multiple cinemas in the city show a large selection of movies, with many weird indie movies that sometime never see a commercial release, but also some classics and more commercial ones.
A few I've seen: 🧵

The Japanese Mario 64 official strategy guide is an incredible thing. "Can we make little hand-made dioramas of all the levels?" "Sure, why the hell not."
