3rd grade is chapter books, if I remember right. When I was in 3rd grade, the benchmark was Roald Dahl: if you could read "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" for fun, you were okay.

An intermission of sorts, just something I needed to do, not because of this news in particular, but because I NEEDED to draw Rei (Pikachu) again.
To clarify: they're still at the Johto daycare, I've never played X/Y (but was hoping to "in a year or two") and she'll never stop calling me onii-chan.

"Mom, Mom! Come quick!" a raichu calls out to a pik-achu from a doorway. The pik-achu appears to be sitting on a wavy edge, suggesting a pond. Both have a bow on one ear.

"See?" the raichu tells the pik-achu as she leads her to an old TV and gestures to it. "There's Mega-thingies for us now!" she surmises.
The pik-achu looks at the silhouettes on screen agape. "Where is this even from?" the pik-achu asks.
"Kalos!" the raichu replies cheerfully.
A pich-chu who was watching the TV on a cusion while wearing a trainer jacket looks over his shoulder at them.

"I don't think your brother can afford it," the pik-achu says as she leans in on the TV which now displays the letters D. L. C. among other logos.
"But Onii-chan said we might go in a year or two," the raichu replies more mutedly as she points to the pic-chu.

"Oh, and that one totaly looks like one of missingno's glitches," the pikachu ads, pointing at the mega-raichu that appears on screen with zig-zag tufts resembling double ears.
This excites the raichu, who leans in flicking her tailtip. "Oh! Can I--?" she bings to ask.
"No," the pik-achu cuts her off.
The pich-chu, meanwhile, is fussily thrashing his little arms and crying out: "Stop calling me onii-chan!"

and, for the record, I'm not a "no you can never take anything from any fox news network" kind of person (they are, sometimes, the only ones reporting local fires for example), but you gotta to know when to take it seriously, and when it's trying to "hook line and sinker" you
