i feel that growing up here gave me an insight into how these people work that many of my friends born and raised in Seattle lack. like on a whole, it's good for those people to have lived somewhere kinder and better to other humans, but man! you don't understand how much these guys suck!!

i used to read science fiction (and other fiction) that considered itself apolitical, more concerned with technology and visions of the stars than the people or politics or cultures involved. flipping this and reading those who understand politics and people has been so much more enriching
