Even if it’s somewhat simple I wanted this one to be special and I wanted it to be about a moment of his life that I shared with him. All of the poems I’ve written about him have been special and I want them all to reflect different things, different parts of my grieving, of what I remember.

I’ve mentioned it before(elsewhere, can’t remember if I ever brought it up here) but I don’t want my memories of my grandpa to be about only his death so I try to avoid talking about it too much though I have written poems and more about this. I just wanted to write a poem about a precious moment.

Well I’m back for a minute and the reason is for that exception I talked about last time I posted here. Today is my abuelo’s birthday though in December it will have been 5 years since he passed. He would have been 97. I figured I’d commemorate the day with a poem he’d have been able to understand.
